About The Virginia Back Institute…
The Virginia Back Institute specializes in the treatment and reconditioning
of those suffering from chronic low back pain.
The Institute's emphasis is on both the elimination of a sufferer's
pain, and the restoration of a patient's proper function and biomechanics.
All without drugs, injections or surgery.
The Institute was founded in 2004 as a specialty arm of the physical
therapy practice Capitol Rehab. The parent organization, founded
in 1996, has multiple locations in Virginia, Maryland and W. Virginia
and quickly established itself as a leader in the diagnosis and
treatment of sports related injuries. By integrating the specialized
techniques of physical therapists, chiropractors, athletic trainers
and massage therapists, Capitol Rehab provides all the services
necessary to successfully treat a wide variety of neuromusculoskeletal
injuries—ranging from spinal pain…to runners injuries…to shoulder
pain…to carpal tunnel…
Over the years, there became a growing need to service a population
often referred to as “failed back cases” or “herniated disc patients”.
These patients were classified as experiencing extremely high levels
of pain and discomfort, and had completed conventional forms of
care including spinal injections, physical therapy and a variety
of drug interventions—all with little or no result. The Virginia
Back Institute was formed specifically to address the needs of this
underserved and often misdiagnosed population.
By combining the latest technologies of spinal decompression with
a multidisciplinary approach to pain reduction and spinal stabilization,
The Virginia Back Institute offers the once “tough” or “failed case”
a level of pain-free success once thought impossible to achieve.
